With the joint action ‘Donate a picture book!’, you can buy the picture book Kom uit de kraan!!! for €2.99 and donate it to a family in Katwijk. The promotion runs from 17 May to 17 June and while stocks last.
All children deserve to be read to. Therefore, The Readshop Rijnsburg, JES Rijnland and Library Katwijk join forces to make this a reality. JES and the library together carry out the VoorleesExpress in Katwijk. The VoorleesExpress ensures that children who have difficulties with language receive extra attention at home. The donated books are given to families participating in the VoorleesExpress. Thus, the generous donors contribute to our common goal: stimulating children's language development and reading pleasure.
The Library and JES Rijnland work together within the Municipal Family Approach to Literacy (GGG). This family approach focuses on supporting parents who find it difficult to provide a language-rich environment at home. Together, we thus work to increase the educational opportunities of children from the Hoornes and Molenwijk districts. In addition, this year JES organises Summer School in and with the library.

This year, the picture book Kom uit die kraan! will take centre stage during the campaign. The book will be in bookstores from 17 May for only €2.99. The national campaign's mission is to let all children in the Netherlands and Flanders grow up among the most beautiful books. To fill children's bookshelves with books, bookshops and partners are each joining forces to make available a children's book and a picture book for a small amount in the spring.
