On Sunday morning, October 5, Natuurcentrum Katwijk is organizing a bird excursion through the Coepelduynen. The theme: bird migration. Don’t forget your binoculars!
The world of birds is in motion all year round, but October is the prime month for bird migration, when this phenomenon can be seen most strikingly. Along our coast, this is especially visible in the large flocks of starlings, chaffinches, and thrushes heading south over the dunes, accompanied by many other, sometimes rare species. Of course, only if the weather is not too bad.
The excursion departs on Sunday, October 5, at 8:30 a.m. from the bicycle parking area at the Coepelduynen car park (next to the riding school). The walk through the (hilly!) dune area lasts about two hours. Bringing binoculars is recommended (a limited number are available to borrow).
