About StringWood Ensemble

The musicians of the StringWood Ensemble join forces to bring their shared passion for classical music to a wider audience. The ensemble performs classical concerts with a unique twist. In thematic and often theatrical concerts, they combine familiar and unfamiliar music to create a ‘new’ experience for the audience. In this way, they bring classical music to both young and older audiences in an accessible and creative way. To present their concerts, the StringWood Ensemble looks for current themes and recognizable subjects and combines different art forms with music. This approach not only stimulates them to make music together, but also enriches them as artists in the broadest sense and as people. Clarinetist Denise explains: “We draw heavily on our creativity; we look for stories, create a context for the music, and explore how other art forms can reflect or complement the music we most want to share with our audience.”
