"Color" in the Community Center
Color is the connection between the four artists exhibiting at Het Dorpshuis in Valkenburg from August 4 to 30, 2025.
Ellen Gozeling exhibits drawings made with colored pencil. This is her favorite medium because it allows her to apply both soft and strong colors. By pressing harder, she intensifies the colors; by working lightly, she creates a pastel-like effect. Sometimes, she uses as many colors as possible to create a composition. Other times, she works with just two contrasting colors that enhance each other through their difference.
Thelma den Adel presents vibrant flower paintings bursting with color and energy. Warm tones and bold lines come together in an explosion of liveliness. Her work is mixed media, and her use of color tells a story.

In the display case, you’ll find glass art by Caroline den Haan. Caroline uses a variety of techniques: the glass is cut, shaped, and sometimes colored. It is then placed in a special kiln where it is fused together.
On the walls of the Grand Café, you can view watercolors by Maria Veldhuis.
The exhibition is free to visit during the opening hours of Het Dorpshuis, Kerkweg 3 in Valkenburg.
