National Park Hollandse Duinen

The park encompasses 4,610 hectares of Natura 2000 areas, including the dune areas of Berkheide (south of Katwijk) and the Coepelduynen (north of Katwijk). The area boasts an immense biodiversity, is important for coastal defense, and plays a role in the drinking water supply.

National Park Hollandse Duinen encompasses the entire area between Hoek van Holland and Hillegom. This remarkable landscape has a distinctiveness shaped over 5,000 years ago by the rise of the sea level. The park extends beyond the sea, beach, and dunes, including the captivating "hinterland." Within this area, you'll discover beach ridges, coastal plains, as well as a total of fifteen villages and towns, including Katwijk!
