Jaques Dekker (1949 - 2022) did his training at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. What is very striking about Jaques' technique in oil painting is the frequent use of the palette knife. Jaques' work is primarily figurative, with forays into both abstract and hyper-realistic elements. In his work, the theme ''Impermanence,'' his love for Brittany and his life in Noordwijk play a leading role.
