Coronavirus update, we look forward to welcoming you!
The tourist office regularly receives telephone calls about the accessibility of the Katwijk beach and dunes. Apparently the impression has been created that Katwijk is hermetically sealed. That is not the case. You can still walk along the beach and through the dunes and visit the shops in our village and restaurants for take-away.
What is the current situation?
The cabinet has committed to an "intelligent lockdown". Lucky for us we don't have to stay in all day. There are plenty of places where you can enjoy a delicious coffee-to-go, buy a fish or enjoy an ice cream. But if too many people want to get a breath of fresh air at the same time, the 1.5 meter distance is compromised and the parking lots will be closed, in the worst case also the ‘Coast garage’ and the beach entrances.
Use your common sense and take responsibility. If you notice that 1.5 meter distance is not achievable, come back at a less busy time. Everyone aged 13 and over must wear a face mask in indoor public spaces and on public transport. The maximum group size outdoors is 4 people from different households. Group size indoors is limited to 30 people, where people are seated. All establishments that serve food and drinks must remain closed. Exceptions are: hotels for hotel guests. Restaurants offer take-away and home delivery in Katwijk and region. Shops are open! Visit netherlandsandyou.nl for more information and a complete list of measures.
We look forward to welcoming you - Team VVV Katwijk
