Pim Rusch and Meggie Plat jointly present their work in the exhibition corridor of Topaz Overduin nursing home, in Katwijk aan Zee. The exhibition shows a beautiful fusion of photographs (by Pim) and paintings (by Meggie), where they inspire each other on different levels.

Pim Rusch has been active as a photographer in Leiden and the surrounding area for more than 25 years. After studying at the art academy in Kampen for several years, he decided to go his own creative way. After various courses, he established himself as a professional photographer and has had his own photo studio since 1996.

Although he also dealt with autonomous images at that time, it was not until around 2015 that he came out as an artist, making more and more autonomous work alongside commercial commissions.

His work is characterised by capturing thoughts that occupy his mind, and emotions, in photographs.

He also likes to make images of cityscapes or landscapes, preferably with an addition that confuses or adds something to the image. Pim loves creation and less about registration.

Meggie Plat graduated as a visual artist from the Willem de Kooning academy in Rotterdam in 2009. For a few years now, she has been active as a painter again and has a studio together with Pim Rusch in the Cheese Market School where, besides making her own work, she also gives workshops to children in her children's art studio.

Meggie paints mainly abstract with the occasional figurative element, preferably on canvas with oil paint but she also uses other materials and media in her work. Her paintings are made without a previously conceived plan, but painted from her feelings, in the moment, from pure emotion and preferably with lots of colour.

Topaz Overduin's exhibition corridor can be found on floor 2, where the new Chapel is at the end of the corridor. The exhibition is free to visit during office hours, via the entrance at the main entrance.
